Best (& Worst) DivaGlam Looks of The Met Gala :-)

The time has come yet again where the who is who in the fashion industry and mega celebs come together for the hottest event of the year and to raise money for The Metropolitan Museum of Art by attending the Met Gala coordinated by none other than the Queen Bee of Fashion herself, Anna Wintour. This year’s Charles James-themed white tie gala had a lot of hits and misses. Here are my Top 10 DivaGlam Looks of the evening… 1)Blake Lively in Gucci Premiere (hand down my favorite look of the night. In the words of Joan Rivers, “She looks like a movie star!” 2)Rihanna went rock star glam in Stella McCartney 3)Kim & Kanye in Lanvin 4) Ann Hathaway was definitely chic and on trend in her crop top Calvin Klein Collection ensemble 5) The Beckhams- David wearing Ralph Lauren Black label and Victoria wearing Victoria Beckham 6) Charlize Theron in Dior Haute Couture & Sean Penn 7)Karolina Korkova brought the drama in Marchesa 8) Diane Krugar was elegant in Jason Wu 9) Liu Wen shut it down in Zac Posen 10) Lala Anthony looked regal in Cushnie et Ochs Honorable Mention 11) Selena Gomez in Diane von Furstenberg. Selena is an honorable mention not because I think that she was one of the best dressed, but because she looked elegant and age appropriate at the same time. She normally misses the mark because she usually tries to dress in a way to make herself look older by wearing dresses that don’t usually suite her frame. She has such a young face that when she tries to go...
Shoegasm- Sophia Webster S/S ’14

Shoegasm- Sophia Webster S/S ’14

Ok, so Sophia Webster’s Spring/Summer 2014 collection is giving me all sorts of shoegasms! I’ve been following Sophia Webster and her whimsical collections for the past few seasons and I must say this designer definitely has staying power! Whenever a new designer emerges, I like to watch them for a few seasons before deciding on if I am going to pull the trigger and make a purchase. I do this because I want to make sure that before I invest in their pieces, that they won’t be here today and gone tomorrow, let’s face it shoes aren’t cheap! The other reason that I wait before pulling the trigger is because I want to make sure that the designer knows their own voice and has a clear vision of what they want their brand to say and who they want it to appeal to. Sophia Webster’s voice and vision as a designer is very clear even though she was Nicholas Kirkwood’s design assistant for 3 years. I definitely see his influence in her collection in the sense that she is not afraid to think outside of the box and really bring her concepts to life without compromise. Her collections are always fun, light-hearted, and whimsical. I love that she is definitely not afraid of color and her designs stand out even amongst higher-end designers. Sometimes I feel like higher-end designers play it too safe and add astronomical price tags because they are just leaning on the clout that their name brings, but Sophia Webster is different. You can easily tell that although her designs are fun and edgy, she also...
Top 5 DivaGlam Looks of the 2014 MTV Movie Awards :-)

Top 5 DivaGlam Looks of the 2014 MTV Movie Awards :-)

Hey divas, did you watch the MTV Movie Awards last night? Here are the top 5 looks that stood out… I am soo happy for Nicki’s transformation. Without the gimmicky hair and makeup, she is actually a gorgeous woman! The costumes worked for setting her apart and making her memorable, but I am so glad that she now knows that she no longer needed any of it. This is the Nicki that everyone is excited to see. The Alexander McQueen dress itself is nothing special, but on Nicki Minaj this simple dress with perfect gold McQueen accessories that still speaks to her personality, definitely allowed her to stand out of the crowd.  The thing that I love about Rihanna is that she is not scared of fashion. She understands that it is about personal expression. I don’t know of anyone else who could have pulled off this Ulyana Sergeenko Couture look any better. She looks like she is coming out of a sexy bedroom scene and straight on to the red carpet. Zendaya Coleman is definitely one to watch! She has been killing red carpets lately. She has such style and poise for just being 16. She’s always so chic, on trend, edgy, and slightly sexy without being overtly sexualized.  She definitely nailed it in this Emanuel Ungaro dress. Chrissy Tiegan looked so cute in this Ulyana Sergeenko dress. I don’t know of a better red carpet to wear this besides the MTV Movie Awards. It’s playful, young, and sophisticated all at the same time. Lupita, Lupita, Lupita Nyong’o! To be absolutely honest, I am not a fan of...
