Blogger/ Vlogger of the Month… Keisha aka MakeupD0ll

Hey Divas & Gents, today’s Blogger/Vlogger of the Month is non other than the fabulous MakeupD0ll (Keisha). I have been subscribed to her YouTube channel ever since she started about 5 years ago. It is really awesome to see someone grow so much and become fully engulfed in something that was once a hobby but has now developed into a full time career because of the passion that she has for beauty. I remember the first time that I saw one of her videos; I was instantly hooked because back then on YouTube it was very rare to see a beautiful chocolate girl that was really excited about hair and makeup (YouTube today is a completely different animal). Keisha’s channel really encompasses all things beauty related from makeup tutorials to her monthly favorites, to hair and product reviews. She even promises to delve more into fashion this year (which I am really excited bout)… not to mention that she actually posts new videos on a very consistent basis (which I need to take a cue from lol). If you haven’t checked out her channel before, don’t hesitate to do so today. She is beautiful, poised, and definitely has a genuine passion for what she does. If you do stop by, tell her that SBD4L sent you...

Blogger/ Vlogger of the Week… Eva of VintageEva.com

Hey divas ! We are back on the saddle again and what better way to come back from hiatus than to introduce you to this fabulous Blogger/ Vlogger of the week, Eva of VintageEva.com? This diva is currently a university student that hails from Angola but resides is London. I actually stumbled upon Eva’s blog a few months ago when I was researching a pair of shoes (don’t act like I’m the only one that does this lol). One thing that you will notice when scrolling Eva’s blog is that her shoe game is very real lol, but that wasn’t the only thing that kept me interested in her blog. What kept me interested was her personal style; although our styles are different, I can always appreciate when someone owns their personal style. I really enjoy the way that she mixes her higher end pieces with a few lower end pieces and tops them off with a splash of vintage while staying true to her own style aesthetic. In this day and age when many are scared to take chances in order to develop their own personal style, it is refreshing to see a bold young diva with her finger on the pulse of hers. Style-ized: The Pencil Skirt (7 Ways for 7 Days)

Style-ized: The Pencil Skirt (7 Ways for 7 Days)

Hey Divas I hope that you had an amazing week and if you didn’t, make up for it over the weekend ;-). I know that it’s been a while since I brought you a Style-ized video, but since I’m trying to get back into a rhythm of posting more frequently…I had to bring it back. I am a person that believes that there are certain wardrobe staples regardless of your personal style that every diva must own. One of those staples is a black pencil skirt. A black pencil skirt is super versatile and appropriate for so many situations. It isn’t just for corporate environments anymore. You can look at it as a blank canvas to dress up or dress down. The options are limitless and the choice(s) of how you wear it is where you allow your personal style to shine. If you would like to see 7 ways that I style the pencil skirt, watch below…. I hope you divas liked it Now this was some of my personal ways of styling the black pencil skirt, how would you style...
My Closet Setup: The Good, the Bad, & the Ugly :-)

My Closet Setup: The Good, the Bad, & the Ugly :-)

Hey divas After a lot of thinking and a slew of requests, I finally decided to do a video on my closet setup. Ever since my closet made its YouTube debut a couple of years ago, I’ve received numerous questions and video request about more info concerning my setup. I thought about it and actually recorded a video about it towards the end of last year, but never posted it because I didn’t like the quality of the video. After that, I wasn’t sure if I would record another one because I’ve noticed how “funny” some people can be about videos like this. I love looking at fabulous things, including other people’s closets for inspiration (I have a blog series called Closet Envy for goodness sake! lol). While scanning the internet for pictures and videos of fabulous closets, I’ve noticed a little trend, especially on YouTube. It seems like some people always get in their own feelings when watching other people’s closet tour or setup videos. The comments that some of these people leave are downright negative and really says way more about the person leaving the comment than the person that posted the video. Some comments attack the people that posted the video by calling them showoffs, greedy, selfish, or by leaving comments like ,”with so many people starving in the world, why do you have so much stuff?” I’ve never understood the mentality behind these types of comments because one of the wonderful things about YouTube is that before you make the active decision to click on a video, you can clearly see the title of the...
