I have never been a fan of spandex mini skirts on myself because of one reason or another, but this summer I was determined to break out of my shell of insecurity and rock one of this season’s must have trends- the spandex mini. I purchased this cobalt blue high waisted mini a few months ago with every intention of wearing it, but as the weather became warmer, I just came up with more and more excuses of why I couldn’t wear it. Well enough was enough, I purchased it, so now I have to wear it (I’m not big on wasting money…which is why I only bought one).
I decided that if I’m going to wear it, then I have to wear it in an environment where I would feel the most comfortable, which is with my hubby on one of our date nights. If you’re a bit body conscious then spandex definitely is not the best material to choose. I kept pulling down my skirt all night, but hubby was happy with the over all look (especially since I rarely ever wear mini skirts or short shorts).
I chose a high waisted skirt that had a horizontal pattern to give me the illusion of wider hips, since I don’t really have much in that area lol. I also paired it with a light colored blazer that hit the hip line to further assist in creating that illusion. Under the blazer I wore a lime “wife beater”camisole to touch on the current trend of color blocking and to complete the look, I wore a pair of stilettos to take the look from casual to “sexy” date night lol. I still can’t say that I’m a fan of the spandex mini, but I am glad that I gave it a try

I have the same issue with contstantly pulling down my spandex skirts. It can be so annoying but other than that I like skirts in that material. I always look for high waisted ones because I like how they fit my body shape. If I don't pair it with a tank/blazer then I wear it with a blouse tucked in.

I love spandex skirts because it makes my butt look good. I wear mines with a blazer or with a nice tank top
Aww why the insecurity? I think you look fabulous. The colors go together well. I Personally don't wear spandex skirts because I am not skinny and I just think it would look weird on me. But you look very nice.

I am also insecure in the spandex body con skirts because I am very modest. I ordered a few off the Forever 21 website before trying them out. I usually just wear mine around the house because they are very comfy just a little too form fitting for me
Maybe I will try it with a blazer for a little coverage.

As myself I am not wearing anymore of these skirts… The reason? Hips way too big so the skrit keeps going up and I cant even walk.. aarrhh ah ah ah
